Summary

Soled is a consignment/resell shop that specializes in selling products related to hype culture, streetwear, and collectibles. It is located in the Aurora Mall. In 2021, I was tasked with designing a website for the Interface Design class. I worked on the coding and used JavaScript. The design was created using Sketch. I also took the photograph myself and edited it in Photoshop.

Audience

Soled caters to sneaker enthusiasts aged 16 to 35 with a passion for hip-hop and basketball culture. They offer a wide range of sneakers, from classic Jordans to the latest drops.

Challenge

As I conducted my research, I noticed that many of the competitor sites, such as Stockx and Goat, displayed an overabundance of banners and products, resulting in an overwhelming shopping experience. Although these sites provided comprehensive information, graphs and well-organized interfaces, the vast array of options left customers confused and indecisive. In my opinion, limiting the available products can be beneficial for customers as it provides a more focused and streamlined shopping experience. Additionally, it is easier for small businesses to manage and promote their inventory when they have a smaller selection. Furthermore, it is essential for any business to have an online presence, especially in the current e-commerce climate. Therefore, it is crucial to make the website user-friendly and well-organized to create a positive shopping experience for the customers.

Solution

Of course, it is business as usual, but the idea behind it is to have users check out. The website is divided into panels, the first panel takes you to the selection of sneakers. The second section on the right is the highlighted product of the week. In this case, it is the Gundam SB dunks, this is updated every week, for the latest release. The third panel to the bottom is the collectibles and streetwear section. Advocating the customer to buy more than just a pair of sneakers. The middle section is divided by the business side of the store. If users want to trade, sell, or cosign, they have the option to do so. At the bottom, there is the introduction to the team.

Reflection

I am satisfied with the end product. However, if I could go back, I would fix the color difference of the hands and add labels for buy, sell, consign, and trade on the site.
